Abstract

The roof truss on the building functions to carry the burden of the building roof. Placement of the load on the roof truss structure is at the gusset point which is the meeting point between the member. But in practice, not all members meet at one gusset point, although in the analysis conducted it is always modeled that the member meet at one gusset point. This also happened in Gedung A Blok Timur Pasar Atas Payakumbuh City, where there are two member of the roof truss structure that do not meet at the gusset point. Therefore an analysis is carried out to compare the 2 conditions in the structure of the roof truss structure namely the roof truss structure where the member meets at one gusset point and the truss structure where the member does not meet at one gusset point to find out the difference between the characteristics of the truss structure model with existing conditions in the field. From the results of the analysis of the roof truss structure of Gedung A Blok Timur Pasar Atas Payakumbuh city, obtained a significant difference in σaxial for each type of truss, and also the difference in deflection that occurs for each type of roof truss structure. The results of the analysis show differences in σaxial for these two conditions with the magnitude of the σaxial differences that occur due to dead load, live load, and wind load on the roof truss structure are 26.989%, 45.824%, and 312.432%, respectively. Meanwhile the horizontal displacement that occurs in the member that do not meet at one gusset point is greater than that which occurs at the member that meet at one point, while the vertical displacement in the two types there is no difference.
