Abstract
Cultural heritage is an important cultural property in order to foster awareness of national identity and enhance the dignity of the nation, as well as strengthen a sense of unity and unity for the realization of the nation's ideals in the future. Legal protection is needed so that it can reduce the threat of damage and extinction to cultural heritage objects. One of the cultural heritage objects that also plays an important role is cultural heritage buildings because Cultural Conservation Buildings as cultural resources are fragile, unique, rare, limited, and not updated. Law enforcement and protection of cultural heritage in Indonesia which is still weak can be proven by the large number of cultural heritage buildings being converted under the pretext of development. This is mainly due to: (1) the concept of using cultural heritage, which is still not reached by the wider community, (2) weak protection of cultural heritage because there are no local regulations that regulate the condition of cultural heritage, and (3) weak protection of cultural heritage due to the fact that there are still many cultural heritage protected areas that have not been included in the urban spatial plan. Legal protection is needed so that it can reduce the threat of damage and extinction to cultural heritage objects. One of the cultural heritage objects that also plays an important role is the cultural heritage building because it is a cultural resource that is fragile, unique, rare, limited and not renewable. Preservation tends to refer to protection measures that are static in nature, for example with relatively tight restrictions on development and utilization activities that are considered cultural heritage. Therefore, there is an impression that development and utilization efforts can be dangerous if not strictly controlled. Understanding of the concept of conservation as opposed to development or actual use is still happening today
